The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Historical Society Museum is the first stand-alone museum of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer history and culture in the United States, focused on San Francisco's queer past. Admission is free on the first Wednesday of the month during two windows: 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. and 1:30–5:00 p.m.; the museum closes from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. Free tickets cannot be reserved online, and entry is first come, first served while capacity remains. Masks are required on first Wednesdays under the current visitor policy. NearbyGrid lists this free-admission opportunity for discovery. We do not host or organize it. Free admission may cover general admission only; special exhibitions, films, rides, parking, reservations, age or residency requirements, or other activities may cost extra or have separate rules. Click Details to confirm the date, time, location, eligibility, reservation requirements, and exclusions on the venue's official page before you go. Verified August 26, 2026 against the venue's official admission and hours pages and current independent San Francisco museum-day guides.
