Child Safety Standards

NearbyGrid is strictly for adults 18 and older. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The presence of minors on NearbyGrid, and any content or conduct that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits a child, is absolutely prohibited.

Our standards

• No one under 18 may create an account or use NearbyGrid. Date of birth is collected at sign-up and 18+ is enforced.
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any sexualization of minors are forbidden in profiles, photos, messages, groups, and anywhere else on the service.
• Grooming, enticement, sextortion, trafficking, and any attempt to involve a minor are forbidden.
• Violations result in immediate removal, a permanent ban, preservation of evidence, and reporting to the authorities.

How we prevent and detect abuse

• Layered age assurance: every user must be 18+ and provide a date of birth at sign-up, and — where required by law or for safety — complete an AI age-estimation selfie ("age assurance") to help confirm they appear to be an adult. Accounts that fail age assurance are blocked; accounts determined to belong to a minor are removed and device-banned from re-registration.
• Photo review: every photo is automatically reviewed before it can appear, and content depicting minors or sexual content involving apparent minors is rejected.
• Reporting and blocking: any user can block or report any profile, photo, message, group, or event at any time, directly in the app — suspected-minor and child-endangerment reports are prioritized.
• Human review: reports are reviewed and actioned, including content removal and permanent account bans.

How to report

If you encounter CSAE, CSAM, a suspected minor, grooming, or sextortion on NearbyGrid:

• Use the Report option on any profile, photo, message, group, or event inside the app, or
• Email our child-safety team at [email protected].

We act on reports of child endangerment as a priority, without requiring you to leave the app.

What we do with reports

When we identify or are notified of apparent CSAE — including CSAM, online enticement or grooming of a minor, sextortion, and child sex trafficking — we remove the content, permanently ban and device-ban the responsible account(s), and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and to law enforcement as required by U.S. law (18 U.S.C. §2258A, as amended by the REPORT Act). We preserve related data for at least one year as required, and cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

Compliance

NearbyGrid complies with applicable child-safety laws and with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Review Guidelines, and maintains the standards above against child sexual abuse and exploitation. These standards are reviewed and updated as our service evolves.
