Effective date: July 16, 2026
NearbyGrid is for adults 18 and older to meet nearby people for friends, dates, relationships, casual connections, and local plans. These guidelines keep it welcoming and safe. Breaking them can get content removed and accounts suspended or banned.
Prohibited activities (zero tolerance)
Anyone under 18, or any content depicting a minor. Child sexual abuse material (reported to NCMEC and law enforcement). Nonconsensual or hidden recording, and nonconsensual intimate imagery, including deepfakes. Prostitution, escorting, compensated dating, sugar arrangements, or any commercial sex. Explicit or sexual content in public or shared spaces (profiles, group covers, events, broadcasts). Selling, buying, or charging to unlock another person's content. Harassment, hate, threats, or violence. Scams, spam, bots, scraping, or impersonation. Any illegal activity.
NearbyGrid is adults only. No one under 18 may use it. We remove suspected minors immediately and report child sexual abuse material to NCMEC and law enforcement. There is zero tolerance for any sexual content involving minors.
Use your own photos. No impersonation, no fake profiles, no AI-generated images of other people ("deepfakes"). One account per person.
No harassment, stalking, bullying, hate speech, discrimination, threats, intimidation, or violence. No doxxing or sharing other people's private information, and no outing anyone's sexual orientation, gender identity, or health status. No sextortion, blackmail, or threats to expose someone's intimate images, private messages, or identity. Treat our staff and moderators with the same respect. These standards apply to how you treat other members both on and off NearbyGrid. Take "no" for an answer.
Only share intimate images of yourself, and only with people who want them. Never share images of another person without their explicit, enthusiastic consent. Unlocking someone's private album gives you permission to view it — not to screenshot, save, record, or re-share it. Do not capture, save, or re-share private content others share with you. Do not send unsolicited sexual messages, photos, or content anywhere on NearbyGrid — including chats, profile prompts, and group or event posts. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and you can revoke access to your private photos whenever you like.
NearbyGrid prohibits sexual, explicit, nude, pornographic, or other age-gated content on public or broadcast surfaces. This includes profile information and public photos, group and event names, descriptions, "how to find us" details, covers, announcements, and group/event chat messages. Consensual adult content in a private album or one-to-one chat is covered by the consent rules above.
The app is 18 or older only, but all shared or publicly visible content must remain appropriate for a general adult audience. Hosts who send announcements must keep them relevant to the event or group, with no explicit, age-gated, promotional, or third-party content.
We automatically check uploaded public images and broadcast content and use narrow high-confidence bot/spam detection on new cold direct messages. Ordinary direct, group, and event messages are not read or AI-reviewed before they are sent. We review items people submit through Report and reserve the right to remove violations. Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or termination.
Every public profile, group, or event photo is checked before it can appear. Use a genuine photo of yourself or of everyday life (selfies, body shots, scenery, pets, travel are all fine). Private-album photos publish without routine approval and instead include a Report control; narrow high-confidence checks for illegal exploitation still apply. We will not approve a public photo that shows:
If a photo is declined you will get a notification explaining why. Repeated violations can lead to account review, suspension, or a ban. If you think a photo was declined by mistake, contact us at nearbygrid.com/contact.
No prostitution, escorting, compensated dating, sugar arrangements ("sugar daddy/baby"), findom, "pay to play," or any commercial sex — including coded or indirect solicitation. No soliciting or sending money, and do not post banking, payment-app, or peer-to-peer payment details on your profile. No buying, selling, advertising, fundraising, MLM, spam, scams, scraping, or bots. Registered sex offenders may not use NearbyGrid.
If someone breaks these rules, use Report and Block — right inside the app, without leaving it. You can report any profile, message, photo, group, or event, and block anyone so you no longer see each other. Reports are confidential and we do not tolerate retaliation for good-faith reports, and you can still report someone after you block or unmatch them. We act on reports of objectionable content and abusive users promptly — within 24 hours for serious violations — including removing content and suspending or permanently banning accounts. Knowingly false or abusive reports may themselves result in enforcement.
NearbyGrid is an adults-only platform and we take content compliance seriously:
To report content, use Report and Block in the app, or email [email protected].
Event and group hosts choose who can see the guest or member list: everyone can preview it, only people who have joined can see it, or it stays private so only the host sees who is attending. Events and groups with sensitive topics default to the private setting. Guest lists always use your event display name and event photo, never your dating profile.
When an event fills up and has a waitlist, NearbyGrid Plus and NearbyGrid Unlimited members receive priority on that waitlist, and hosts can turn this off to run a plain first-come waitlist instead. Paid plans never affect who you are matched with or your placement in discovery.
